Lotter map of Asia. Notable for early representation of Alaska as 'Compagmie Land', and New Holland, as well as the fictional state of Carpentaria. Original hand outlining and coloring.

Kurzgefafste Geographie, in fich haltmed einen aneinander hangenden entwurf aller Theile des bewohnten Erdbodens nebit compendieufen Land-Charten, welche einen kleinen Sack-Atlas. By Tobias Lobeck and Tobias Conrad Lotter, Augsburg, 1755 (this edition is likely 1762). Lotter worked for famous mapmaker Seutter, and after his death came out with many of his own atlases. Fine period pocket maps that were more accurate than many of their contemporary peers, although many errors remained.

Map size 12.5 cm x 10 cm.

Condition very good+ to fine. Light toning at edges and very light toning, paper quality still strong.
