Dufour’s Atlas Universel was one of the most important atlas series to be published in France during the 19th Century. Adolphe Hippolye (Auguste-Henri) Dufour was a student of Lapie, and a key member of France’s mid 19th-century cartography community.

In addition to his status as an important cartographer of the period, Malte-Brun was also a founder and the first secretary of the Societe de Geographie de Paris (1821). His son Victor Adolphe Malte-Brun, also a geographer, concerned himself with the course of African and Arctic exploration.

Kurzgefafste Geographie, in fich haltmed einen aneinander hangenden entwurf aller Theile des bewohnten Erdbodens nebit compendieufen Land-Charten, welche einen kleinen Sack-Atlas. By Tobias Lobeck and Tobias Conrad Lotter, Augsburg, 1755 (this edition is likely 1762). Lotter worked for famous mapmaker Seutter, and after his death came out with many of his own atlases. Fine period pocket maps that were more accurate than many of their contemporary peers, although many errors remained.
